Rivers, Ponds and canals are usually infected with a Bacterium which can cause Weils Disease. Most of the time it takes the form of a chill, or resemble an attack of the Flu, with high temperature, pain to the joints and muscles, particularly the calf muscles. TELL YOUR DOCTOR YOU HAVE BEEN CANOEING AND ASK FOR A BLOOD TEST FOR WEIL'S DISEASE. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE DISEASE IS IDENTIFIED QUICKLY!
