1264 ANNUAL COUNTY RAFT RACE
DATE: Sunday 7th June 1998.
The annual Raft Race between Lewes and Southease Bridge (approx.6 miles) will commence at about 12.00noon.This is a Fun event but also competition.
START: Malling Brooks in Lewes (behind Tesco) GR: OS 198 418106.
Please ensure all rafts are lined up and ready to go by 12.00 noon.
(the race starts when the tide starts to ebb.)
FINISH: Southease Bridge, the fastest in about 1 hour, the last, possibly 3 hours later.
WHO CAN ENTER: The three classes are as follows :
1. Scouts. Male / Female / mixed of Scout Section age on the race day.
2. Venture Scouts. Male / Female / mixed. The eldest must be under 20 years on race day. Scouts can combine with Venture Scouts.
3. Scouters. There has to be four or more on the raft, the combined age must be in excess of 120 years and for every extra leader add another 35 years.

How do you Enter: Entry fee of £1 per head which includes a hot drink at the finish. Just send off the attached form to the address quoted. Alternatively turn up on the day BUT we would like to anticipate numbers , PHONE US!
For fastest in each class and a prize for the best dressed raft and crew, the theme is yours.
